A broadcast on Action 10 News highlights an exciting new program involving LumaStream and Saint Petersburg College that will provide young people with important skills that readily translate to an expanding technical work force. As importantly, LumaStream is committed to expanding their manufacturing facilities in St. Petersburg’s Mid-Town which means the sharply increased demand for LED lighting will directly benefit St. Petersburg. This entire project is a wonderful testimonial to Eric Higgs and George Gordon of LumaStream and a most collaborative team of accomplished partners from St. Petersburg College that included Bill Law, Kevin Gordon, John Chapin, Jonathan Steele, Brad Jenkins and Gary Graham. Both Larry Langebrake of SRI and Downtown Partnership board chair Rob Kapusta also played an important role in bringing this about.
The Downtown Partnership is thrilled to have been the catalyst for this technical/educational Partnership that will almost certainly evolve into a model for the state of Florida. Click here to view the Action 10 News broadcast.
