Downtown St. Petersburg is easily accessible from Interstate 275 by two direct feeders, I-175 (South feeder) and I-375 (North feeder.) St. Petersburg / Clearwater International Airport can be reached in 15 minutes, and Tampa International Airport in 30 minutes.

The St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership sponsors a Transportation Management Organization with purposes to address issues of air quality, congestion and mobility, provide information about parking availability and transportation alternatives, and to provide administrative support for the Looper, the downtown trolley.

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) presently operates 155 transit coaches and the Suncoast Beach Trolley on 38 fixed routes and 7 commuter routes. Looper Downtown Trolley

Downtown’s trolley, the Looper is the most enjoyable way to see the beautiful sights of the city. Linking shopping, restaurants, museums, The Pier, BayWalk and downtown hotels.

Service is provided Sunday-Thursday, 10am-5pm and Friday-Saturday 10am-midnight. Look for the Discover Downtown Guide and Map for route and schedule information or visit their website at www.loopertrolley.com

The fare is $0.25 per person per trip. Seniors 65 and older, medicare cardholders and those that are disabled are half price, or $0.10. Children 5 and under ride free. Exact change please.


Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) Program: The GRH program is designed to take the anxiety out of leaving your car at home. Anyone who carpools, vanpools, ride the bus, bikes or walks back and for to work at least two days per week is eligible for the GRH program. This program provides you with a FREE taxi ride home up to eight times per year in an emergency situation (certain restrictions apply). To register, please visit Bay Area Commuter Services.

Tax Benefits: A company can reduce its taxable income by subsidizing vanpool and transit riders. Federal and state laws allow employers to offer a non-taxable transportation benefit up to $105 per month per employee. Employees receive the benefit tax-free, and employers get a full tax deduction and do not pay payroll taxes or other costs on the amount provided. Employers can also allow employees to set aside part of their gross income on a pre-tax basis.
