Thanks to support from our members and board, we made progress on many of the priorities we identified in our 2025 Work Plan and kept momentum in our mission to champion community prosperity through purposeful, transformative projects. This final Work Plan update of 2025 will share what progress has been made over the last couple of months.
Clean and Safe
Dan Biederman, founder of Biederman Redevelopment Ventures and known nationally for turning Bryant Park into a vibrant hub in New York City, did a site visit of Williams Park with stakeholders on October 15th. Click here to read more in the St. Pete Catalyst.

Walkable
Shaun Drinkard has also been working towards the rollout of IKE digital wayfinding kiosks, helping residents and visitors alike find their way downtown and discover new businesses and destinations.
Livable
Keeping downtown livable means ensuring there’s room for more people to call it home. The City is working on an overlay district for the SunRunner and other transit corridors, giving developers more flexibility to add housing density. Expected by the end of 2025, this proposal will play an important role in keeping housing accessible and affordable for the people who make downtown thrive.
Development Highlights
Dave Bevirt, chief operating officer for Ellison Development, joined the Partnership’s Developer’s Council meeting in October to share new details their $6.8 billion proposal to reimagine prime, underutilized real estate around Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Other Updates
The City Builder Award honors one individual who has made momentous contribution to building St. Pete's urban center and whose values and commitment to community set them apart. This year we honored R. Donald Mastry of Trenam Law. Learn more about him this video series created about the team at Elements Content Studio.

Keeping downtown livable means ensuring there is quality education options available nearby. We invited Laura Hine, the Chairperson of the Pinellas County School Board, to a recent Leadership Circle lunch with Sponsor and Supporter level members to get an update on the local school system.

Moving Forward
The Downtown Partnership board met in September for the annual Board Retreat to review the considerable progress made on many of the priorities we identified in our 2025 Work Plan and identify new priorities to include in the 2026 Work Plan, which we will be sending to all of our members with dues renewal notices in January 2026.
