Senator Nick Diceglie Biography

Nick DiCeglie grew up in North Woodmere, NY. He has resided in Florida since 1996. Nick is married to Erica DiCeglie, an accomplished musician and composer. They have two children, Livia and Carlo.

Nick has owned Solar Sanitation Inc. since 2001 and is proud to have grown up in the waste management industry, having learned all aspects of the family business from both his mother and father. He continues to hone those skills by studying various aspects of business, especially management and leadership styles.

In 2011, Nick was recognized as an Up & Comer by the Tampa Bay Business Journal and, in 2011, Solar Sanitation was recognized by the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce as the Medium Business of the Year.

In addition to being a successful business owner and a committed family man, Nick is actively involved in the Pinellas County community. He served two terms as Chairman of the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce, served as a Governor Appointee on the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, and as a member of the Indian Rocks Beach Planning and Zoning Board for six years. Before being elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2018, Nick served as Chairman of the Pinellas County Republican Party.

Nick was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2018 and reelected subsequently in 2020, where he has made an impact as an incredibly effective lawmaker. As the sponsor of HB 5 in 2019, Nick successfully passed legislation making it harder for local government to raise taxes on citizens. The following year Nick sponsored and passed HB 441 to improve transparency and competition in the procurement of public contracts.

Nick was elected to the Florida State Senate in 2022, where it didn’t take long to send his first bill to the Governor’s desk. During the Special Session in December of 2022, Nick successfully sponsored legislation to supply a yearly rebate to Floridians with 35 or more toll transactions on their account, following through on his promise to lower prices for local families.

He currently serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation for the 2023 and 2024 Legislative Sessions.
