On Saturday, October 24th, SpringZone St. Pete and Ujima Housing Solutions, in partnership with a coalition of local community agencies, corporate sponsors, and arts institutions, will present Voices of Resilience at The Studio @620 in downtown St. Petersburg. The Downtown Partnership is glad to help spread the word about this community event.

The evening will showcase spoken word, theater, visual art, and music created and performed by local transition-age foster youth. The performances were developed through a six-week creative workshop series led by professional coaches from American Stage and Jobsite Theater, giving young people a platform to tell their stories on their own terms.

Alongside the performances, advocacy panels will connect those stories to real solutions, including transitional housing models, workforce development pipelines, and mental health care for youth aging out of the foster system.

Proceeds benefit the Pinellas Foster Youth Ascent Fund, a collective impact fund addressing the unmet needs of transition-age foster youth in Pinellas County, with a goal of building $100,000. Funds are shared among frontline partners including SpringZone St. Pete/Ujima Housing Solutions, The Cali Project, Packs of Love, and Faith Youth Services to support housing assistance, job training, medical care, and daily essentials.

Sponsors and partners include Lake Michigan Credit Union, Duke Energy, American Stage, Jobsite Theater, and What I Would Have Missed, among others.
